Central Alberta Photographer looking for models

If you are interested in being a model we are always looking for people to take pictures of. Our favourite themes are lifestyle shots of college students, families, and seniors. Picnics, studying, walking, biking, and gardening are a few ideas.

We want pictures of you outside in nature, in our home studio, or in your home. Most of all we want pictures of you in your environment doing what makes you happy.

Do I need to be a professional model?

No! You just need to be comfortable in front of the camera. We are looking for all types of people. We actually prefer if you are not a professional. Since we do lifestyle (real life, real emotions) there will always be something we can do.

How much will the photoshoot cost me?

The photoshoot is completely free to you. In fact you will receive something for doing it. And since we do mostly lifestyle themes (real life, real emotions), you will get many of the same types of pictures you would receive if you hired a portrait photographer (which would cost $250 or more, before the cost of prints.)

What will I receive for doing the photoshoot?

• For individuals, couples, families and seniors, I let you have a digital copy of three the pictures for personal use (including printing and posting on social networks).
• For experienced models, we do one shoot together without pay to determine whether we work well together. You will receive digital copies to add to your portfolio. After the first shoot we will discuss compensation

What kind of pictures will be taken at the photoshoot?

I specialize in lifestyle pictures. I like to have a happy and fresh look to my portfolio. College students, families, businesses, and senior adults are a few of my favourite subjects. There are an endless number of themes we can do. Often we will take a few minutes from each photoshoot to do some religious pictures. My religious pictures have been purchased and used by It is Written Canada for devotional books sent out to all Seventh-day Adventist churches across the country and internationally.

Where will my pictures be used?

The pictures are sold with royalty-free licenses to designers through picture libraries also called stock agencies. Depending on the specific license the designer purchases they can be used in magazines, websites, brochures, books, leaflets, television, and other forms of advertising. The photo libaries have strict terms and conditions of with what can and cannot be done with each picture so you shouldn't worry about it being abused. If someone wants to abuse a picture they will probably steal it off of Google images not purchase it from a photo library.

Here are two quotes from the photo libraries terms for buyers:

"You may NOT use an Image in a way that places any person in the photo in a bad light or depicts them in a way that they may find offensive - this includes, but is not limited to: a) the use of Images in pornography; b) tobacco ads; c) ads for adult entertainment clubs or similar venues, or for escort, dating or similar services; d) political endorsements; e) advertisements for pharmaceutical products, including, but not limited to personal hygiene or birth control products; and f) uses that are defamatory, or contain otherwise unlawful, offensive or immoral content."

"You may "NOT" use or display any Content that features a model or person in a manner that (i) would lead a reasonable person to think that such person uses or personally endorses any business, product, service, cause, association or other endeavour; or (ii) that depicts such person in a potentially sensitive subject matter, including, but not limited to mental and physical health issues, social issues, sexual or implied sexual activity or preferences, substance abuse, crime, physical or mental abuse or ailments, or any other subject matter that would be reasonably likely to be offensive or unflattering to any person reflected in the Content"
